Simple process of hot forging-Forging billets
Forging is an ancient and exciting process that can turn hard metal into parts of any shape and size. Among the different forging methods, hot forging is one of the most common. This forging method requires a certain process to be followed to ensure the quality and performance of the final forged part.
First, the forging billet is discharged, and this part is the basis for determining the quality of the forging. Then, the billet is heated to bring the metal to the proper forging temperature. Next, roll forging preparation and die forging forming are performed to complete the transformation of the metal billet into the desired shape of the forging.
Then, the process doesn't stop here. Cutting, punching and straightening are done step by step to perfect the shape of the forging. This is followed by intermediate inspections to ensure that the dimensions and surface defects of the forgings meet the requirements.
In order to improve the cutting properties of the metal, the forgings need to be heat treated to eliminate forging stresses. In addition to this, cleaning is equally important to clean the surface from oxidation and prevent defects. This is followed by straightening and inspection to ensure that the forgings meet the requirements.
Through careful execution of these steps, high quality forgings can be produced, and these forgings also need to undergo several rigorous inspections, including chemical composition analysis, mechanical property testing, residual stress and non-destructive testing.
In the field of forging, hot forging is a more mature technology and widely used process. However, in many applications, cold forging and warm forging are still required. These three forging processes have their own advantages and disadvantages and need to be selected according to the material and design requirements of the part.
In the forging process, single die tang forging die and multi-die tang forging die are also two common die forging methods, each with its own application and performance characteristics, which need to be selected according to specific needs.
Nowadays, forging technology is gradually maturing, and various new forging equipment and automated forging technology are emerging, which not only substantially improves the production efficiency, but also greatly enhances the accuracy and stability of forging quality. Our company has rich experience and ability in forging fire fighting parts and automated equipment forging, and has accumulated many successful cases in this area. We are convinced that through continuous improvement of technology and rigorous processes, we can produce more and better forgings and create greater value for our customers.
