Level Analysis

China's forging industry is developed on the basis of the introduction, digestion and absorption of foreign technology. After years of technological development and transformation, the technical level of leading enterprises in the industry, including process design, forging technology, heat treatment technology, machining technology, product testing, etc., has been greatly improved.

(1) Process design

Advanced manufacturers generally use thermal processing computer simulation technology, computer-aided process design and virtual technology to improve the level of process design and product manufacturing capabilities. The introduction and application of DATAFOR, GEMARC/AUTOFORGE, DEFORM, LARSTRAN/SHAPE and THERMOCAL simulation programs to achieve computer design and process control of thermal processing.

(2) Forging Technology

Most of the hydraulic presses of 40MN and above are equipped with 100-400t.m main forging operators and 20-40t.m auxiliary operators, and a considerable number of operators adopt computer control to realize comprehensive control of forging process, so that the forging accuracy can be controlled at ±3mm, and the online measurement of forgings adopts laser size measuring device.

(3) Heat treatment technology

The focus is on improving product quality, improving the efficiency of heat treatment, as well as saving energy and protecting the environment. Such as the use of computer control of the heating furnace and heat treatment furnace heating process, control burners to achieve automatic adjustment of combustion, adjustment of furnace temperature, automatic ignition and heating parameters management; waste heat utilization, heat treatment furnace equipped with regenerative combustion chamber, etc.; the use of low pollution capacity and can effectively control the cooling polymer quenching oil tank, a variety of water-based quenching medium gradually replace the traditional quenching oil.

(4) machining technology

The proportion of CNC machine tools in the industry has gradually increased, some companies in the industry with processing centers, according to different types of products equipped with proprietary processing machinery, such as five-coordinate machining center, blade processing machine, roll mill, roll lathe, etc.

(5) Quality assurance measures

Some domestic enterprises have been equipped with the latest detection instruments and testing technology, the use of computer-controlled data processing of modern automated ultrasonic flaw detection system, the use of a variety of special automatic ultrasonic flaw detection system, the completion of a variety of quality system certification, etc. The key production technologies of high-speed heavy-duty gear forging products have been continuously overcome and industrialized production has been realized on this basis. On the basis of the introduction of foreign advanced production technology and key equipment, China has been able to design and manufacture its own production equipment for high-speed heavy-duty gear forgings, which are close to the international advanced level, and the improvement of technology and equipment level has strongly promoted the development of the domestic forging industry.
